Awe-stricken means the same as awestruck: so filled with awe that you almost cannot move or speak. It describes the person, not the mountain. The second half, stricken, is an old past form of strike — as if the feeling has hit you. Though actually, stricken in other phrases often sounds dark (grief-stricken, panic-stricken), so awe-stricken can feel a little heavier and more old-fashioned than awestruck. You will meet it in stories more than in speech. People standing below a huge waterfall, or hearing a choir in a stone church, might be awe-stricken.
