1. 1

An adulterer is a married person who has sex with someone who is not their husband or wife. It is an old, rather judging word. Many people now say “he had an affair” or “she was ,” which sounds less like a courtroom. The word names the person, not the act (the act is adultery). It does not tell you whether the other person is married too. Older books use for a woman; though actually, a lot of writers now use adulterer for anyone. It shares an old Latin root with , the food word, but in modern English the two lives of the family have split.

    通姦者(日常多說「有外遇的人」)
