    Adoringly is how you do something when you like and admire someone very much — the look, the smile, the way you listen. It paints the same one-way warmth as adoring, only now it tells you about the action: she gazed adoringly, he spoke adoringly of his teacher. It is a little literary; in plain talk people more often say “She looked at him as if he were wonderful.” Used lightly, it can be tender. Used a lot, it can sound as if the person has no eyes for anyone’s faults.
