1. 1

Adoring describes the way you like and look up to someone — a warm, almost shining admiration, not a cool one. It often sits in front of a noun: adoring fans, an adoring look, an adoring husband. The feeling runs one way: the adoring person is the one giving the love; the other person is receiving it. You hear it in newspapers and in stories more than in very plain daily chat. Though actually, it can sound a little much, even sweet in a sticky way, if you use it for ordinary liking. Loving is the everyday word; adoring is a step stronger and a bit more “I think you are wonderful.”

    愛慕的、崇拜的(那種抬頭看著對方的喜歡)
