Yellowish means a bit yellow, or close to yellow but not a pure, strong yellow — a color leaning toward yellow without quite being it. You can use it for anything with color: 'yellowish skin,' 'yellowish light,' 'a yellowish stain.' It often has a slightly negative feel, especially for skin or teeth, suggesting a color that shouldn't really be there.
