    The way a company arranges the work on a project: which part of it each person is going to do, and when each part is supposed to be finished.

    「workflow」講的是「一個案子在公司裡是怎麼安排的」，而且一定包含兩件事：誰負責哪一段，還有那一段什麼時候要做完。可以想成 work（工作）加 flow（水流）：就像工作一段一段往下流，從一個人的手上流到下一個人手上——有先後順序，也有速度。它跟幾個近義詞不一樣：schedule 只講時間，job 只講某一個人的那一份，process 只講步驟、沒有講人；workflow 是把「誰」和「什麼時候」合在一起看。

Picture work as water moving along a channel: it leaves one person's desk, arrives at the next, and only then can the next step start. The 'workflow' is the shape of that channel — who does which part, in what order, by when. The word is made of exactly what it says: work + flow.
