'Woodsy' means it feels like the woods. You use it for a place — 'a woodsy path', 'a woodsy corner of the park' — meaning full of trees, quiet, a bit wild. You also use it a lot for smells and tastes: a woodsy perfume, a woodsy tea, a woodsy whisky — meaning it smells of trees, bark, moss, damp earth, the forest floor. This second use is very common in advertising and in writing about coffee, wine and perfume. It is a relaxed, everyday American word; British speakers understand it but say it less often. Keep it apart from 'woody', which is close but different: 'woody' usually means made of wood or hard like wood ('a woody stem', 'woody plants'), while 'woodsy' is about the feeling of being among trees. Perfume writers do blur the two, so you will meet both.
