Vidding is the activity itself: making fan videos by cutting together clips from existing films, television programmes or videos, usually set to a piece of music. It is what a vidder does. You can use it as a plain noun — 'vidding takes patience', 'she got into vidding in college' — and you will also see the verb behind it, to vid ('he vidded the whole series into four minutes'). The heart of vidding is that nothing is filmed; the raw material is somebody else's footage, and the art is in selection, order and timing. Because of that, vidding sits in an interesting legal grey area, and fan communities argue about it as transformative work and fair use. Two useful notes for a . First, the word is informal and community-bound — outside fandom, people say 'making fan videos' or 'video editing'. Second, don't confuse it with , which sounds similar but is the opposite thing: is filming yourself and talking to a camera.
剪同人影片(把現成影集、電影片段配上音樂重新剪接的創作活動;同人圈用語,圈外通常說 making fan videos)
