Uruguayan works two ways. As an adjective it means "of Uruguay" — Uruguayan beef, a Uruguayan passport, the Uruguayan coast. As a noun it means a person from Uruguay: "she's a Uruguayan", "three Uruguayans were on the team". Like all nationality words in English it keeps its capital letter even in the middle of a sentence, which is different from Chinese and easy to forget. Say it "yoor-uh-GWY-un" or "yoor-uh-GWAY-un". Being a nationality word it is neutral and safe — no hidden feeling in it, good or bad. One small thing worth knowing: Uruguayans are often lumped in with Argentinians by outsiders, and they generally do not love that, the way people feel about being called something else.
組成Uruguay + -an. That -an is the ordinary English ending for "belonging to a place or group": it came through Old French and Middle English from Latin -ānus. It is the same ending that turns America into American and Italy into Italian.
