Untiring is praise. It describes someone who keeps working at something hard, for a long time, without ever to run out of energy — and it says you admire them for it. Her untiring efforts to help refugees. His untiring work for the school. The word almost never appears without that warm tone; you would not call a criminal untiring in their thefts unless you were being ironic. It goes with a small set of nouns: efforts, work, support, energy, dedication, campaigning, service. Notice these are all about doing good for others or for a cause. That is the natural home of the word. It also often appears in thank-you speeches, , award citations, and news about charities — places where people are publicly grateful. Of course, real people do get tired. Untiring does not claim they never feel exhausted; it says they never stopped. There is a very close word, , which means the same thing and is more common in everyday English. If you learn only one, learn — but recognise untiring when you read it.
