From unfold, Old English unfealdan; un- (reversive) + fold.
源自古英文 unfealdan，un-「反向」＋fold「摺」。
組成un + fold + ed. 'Un-' here reverses the action of folding, so 'unfold' is the opposite of 'fold.'
