Turnround is the British spelling of turnaround, and it carries the same meanings. First, the time a thing takes to go in, be dealt with, and come back out — a printer's turnround on a poster, a lab's turnround on a test, a plane's turnround at the gate between landing and taking off again. Second, a complete change from bad to good: a company losing money that starts making money has had a turnround. Third, and more literally, the act of turning a vehicle to face the other way. Honestly, this spelling is now the rarer of the two: turnaround has largely won, even in Britain, and you will most often meet turnround in older business writing, in shipping and aviation, and in newspapers that keep an old house style. Learn it so you recognise it, but write turnaround.
(英式拼法)= turnaround:週轉時間、處理時間;也指業績由虧轉盈的大翻身。
組成turn + round. British English says 'turn round' where American English says 'turn around', and each side made its noun from its own phrase.
