In a way that the people or the country you are supposed to be loyal to. It is the adverb of 'traitorous', and it describes HOW someone acts: they act traitorously when they help the enemy, hand over secrets, or turn against their own side. The word is strong and formal — you meet it in history books, in old stories, in courtroom language, and in translations of Shakespeare, far more than in everyday talk. Note that it is not simply about breaking a promise or letting a friend down; the word carries the weight of a big, serious betrayal, usually of a country, a king, a cause, or a group you belong to. If a tells your secret, saying they behaved 'traitorously' would sound half-joking, like you were putting on a dramatic voice — and people do use it that way on purpose, for fun. There is one more, softer use: writers sometimes say a person's own body or face acted traitorously, meaning it gave them away when they wanted to hide something — their voice traitorously shook. In that use nobody is really a traitor; it just means something them without meaning to.
