Of very good quality, or at the very highest standard. You use it about the best in a field — a top-class hotel, a top-class player, top-class research. It is more common in British English than American, and it turns up a lot in sport writing, where a top-class team or athlete means one good enough to compete at the highest level, not just a good local one. Notice the two slightly different jobs it does: sometimes it means "excellent" (top-class service = wonderful service), and sometimes it means "in the top group" (top-class football = the top league, whether or not any single match is good). It normally sits in front of the noun; people say "a top-class chef" far more often than "this chef is top-class", though that is possible too.
top-class 指品質非常好，或達到最高的水準，常用來形容某個領域裡最頂尖的人或事物。它通常放在名詞前面，寫成「a top-class ＿＿」，例如 a top-class hotel（頂級飯店）、a top-class chef（一流主廚）。
