The small everyday things you use to wash and take care of your body — soap, shampoo, , toothbrush, , razor, and so on. It is a plural word: people say 'my toiletries', almost never 'a toiletry'. You meet it most when travelling and shopping: hotels leave free toiletries in the bathroom, airports have rules about carrying liquid toiletries, supermarkets have a toiletries aisle, and you pack a toiletries bag (also called a wash bag or toilet bag). The word feels slightly formal and written — a sign or a packing list says 'toiletries', while a friend would just say "did you bring your shampoo and stuff?" Where the line falls is fuzzy: soap and are clearly toiletries; make-up and perfume sometimes count, sometimes get called cosmetics instead, and nobody minds much.
組成toilet + -ries. 'Toilet' once meant the whole business of washing and dressing yourself, not the bowl in the bathroom — that older meaning survives here, and in 'toilet water' (a light perfume). So toiletries are 'things for your washing-and-dressing routine'.
