"Thereinafter" is a legal word meaning "later on in that document" — in the paper, contract, or law that is being talked about. You see it when one document discusses another one: "The agreement defines the buyer as the Purchaser, thereinafter referred to as such." The key is the "there": it points to some OTHER document, not the one you are holding. Its much partner is "", which means "later in THIS document" — that is the one you actually see in contracts, in the famous formula "Wang Ming ( referred to as 'the Tenant')", which sets up a short name to use for the rest of the paper. Outside law and formal reports, this word does not appear at all. Nobody says it aloud. For a student, the useful thing is not to produce it but to recognise the pattern: here-/there- plus in plus after, and to know it is just pointing at a later part of a document.
