Tattooed is the past form of 'tattoo', to put a permanent picture or word into someone's skin with a needle and ink. Because the ink goes under the skin, it does not wash off — that is the whole meaning of the word.

Tattooedtattooed is是 the past form of 'tattoo''tattoo'的過去式 to put a permanent picture or word用針和墨水 into someone's skin把一張永久的圖案或文字放進某人的皮膚裡 with a needle and ink Because因為 the ink墨水 goes under the skin會進到皮膚底下 it它 does not wash off洗不掉 — that permanence這種永久性 is是 the whole meaning of the word就是這個字的全部意義

You meet it three ways. As a verb: 'he tattooed a small bird on her wrist'. As a description of a person: 'a heavily tattooed man' — meaning covered in tattoos. And as a description of the skin or body part: 'her tattooed arms'.

You你 meet it three ways會遇到它三種用法 As a verb當動詞用的時候 'he tattooed a small bird on her wrist'.「he tattooed a small bird on her wrist」 As a description of a person當用來描述一個人的時候 'a heavily tattooed man'「a heavily tattooed man」 — meaning意思是 covered in tattoos全身刺滿刺青 And而 as a description of the skin or body part當用來描述皮膚或身體部位的時候 'her tattooed arms'.「her tattooed arms」

English also uses it for something fixed forever in the mind: 'that day is tattooed on my memory'. In Taiwan a tattoo can still be read as a mark of gangs, but among young people worldwide it is now ordinary decoration, and a good teacher should not assume the old reading.

組成From 'tattoo' + the -ed ending. English took 'tattoo' from Polynesian languages — Tahitian and Samoan tatau — brought back by European sailors in the 1700s. Note there is a completely separate 'tattoo' meaning an evening drum or bugle signal in the army; it comes from Dutch and is not related.
