Tastefully is the adverb: it tells you HOW something was done, and it says it was done with good judgement — quietly, suitably, without going too far. It sits with a small set of verbs again and again, almost always in the passive: tastefully , tastefully , tastefully dressed, tastefully done. If you learn 'tastefully ' as one lump, you have most of the word. You will meet it constantly in the language of selling and describing places — hotel pages, Airbnb listings, property advertisements, wedding write-ups. There it is close to a set phrase, a polite way of saying 'this looks good and we did not overdo it'. Because of that, it can sound a little bit like advertising when a student uses it in ordinary conversation. It carries the same restraint as tasteful: tastefully means with less, not with more. 'The room was tastefully ' tells your listener the room was calm and well put together — never that it was full of expensive things.
組成tasteful + -ly. The ending -ly turns a describing word into a how-word: careful → carefully, quiet → quietly, tasteful → tastefully.
