Superglue is a very strong, very fast glue that bonds in seconds and is hard to undo. It started life as a brand name — Super Glue — and, like Hoover or Post-it, it slid into ordinary English as the name for the whole product type, whichever company made it. You will see it written three ways: superglue, super glue, and Super Glue for the trademark; all are common, and dictionaries accept the one-word form. It is normally uncountable, like most glues: 'a tube of superglue', 'some superglue', not 'two superglues'. It also works as a verb — to superglue something is to stick it with that glue: 'I superglued the handle back on.' In casual speech people stretch the verb further, to mean stuck fast in general: 'his eyes were superglued to the screen'. That stretched use is playful and would be out of place in formal writing.
三秒膠(台灣最常聽到的說法,大陸多說「強力膠」或「502膠」);瞬間膠是包裝上的正式名稱
組成super- + glue. Super- from Latin super, 'above, beyond', so 'glue beyond ordinary glue'. Originally the trademark of the Super Glue Corporation, now used generically.
