"Spewing" is the -ing form of "spew," meaning to send something out in a sudden, , often messy or unpleasant rush. A volcano can be "spewing" lava and smoke. A car exhaust pipe can be "spewing" fumes. It's also used, quite , for someone talking a lot of nonsense, lies, or angry words: "he's just spewing nonsense" means he's talking a stream of rubbish. And yes, it's sometimes a milder way to say someone is vomiting.
