Softball is a sport much like baseball, played with a bigger, softer ball and on a smaller field, usually pitched underarm instead of . It's popular in schools and for women's sports teams in some countries, including in Taiwan and the US. Outside of sport, "a softball question" is a slang way to describe an easy question, one that isn't meant to challenge or trouble the person answering it.
