Playing music out loud from your phone in a public place — on the bus, on the train, in a park — so that everybody nearby has to listen to it. The word exists only to ; nobody says it about themselves. It is British slang, fairly recent, and playful in a way: it is the sort of word a newspaper column or an online complaint uses. You will hear it much more in Britain than in America, and many English speakers will not know it at all, so treat it as a fun word to recognise rather than a safe word to use. The person doing it can be called a 'sodcaster'. It is built as a joke on 'broadcasting' — broadcasting is sending sound out to everyone, and 'sod' is a mild British insult for an person. Related words you may meet for the same crime: 'bus pest' in Britain, and in Taiwan people usually just describe it — 用手機外放音樂.
