Skincare is what you do, and what you put on, to keep your skin in good condition — most often the skin on your face. It can mean the habit (a morning and evening routine) or the things in the bathroom: cleanser, moisturiser, sunscreen. Shops and magazines use it every day; doctors more often say skin care as two words, or talk about treatment when something is wrong. It is not the same as makeup. Makeup sits on top and changes how you look; skincare is meant to look after the skin itself. People of any age and any gender can talk about skincare now, though adverts still push it hardest at women.
