Single-mindedness is the quality of being single-minded: that one-aim energy that will not let go. People use it when they want to name the trait, not the person. Her single-mindedness got her there is praise; though actually, the same sentence can turn sad if you add what it cost — friends, rest, other plans. It is a fairly formal noun, at home in essays, speeches, and careful talk.
