A singalong is a friendly get-together where people sing songs they already know, all at the same time — not a concert, and not a show with a star on a stage. Someone may play a guitar, or the words go up on a screen, and the whole room joins in. It feels informal: camps, birthday parties, churches, pubs. You can also say a singalong session, using it like an adjective. Some people write sing-along with a ; it is the same word. Though actually, in Taiwan the nearest everyday habit is KTV, but a singalong is not quite that: you are not taking turns with a machine. You are one group, one song, together.
