    If you call someone simple-minded, you are saying they are not very intelligent and cannot follow things — their thinking stays on the easy path. That is a hard word to use kindly; about a living person it usually sounds like an insult. Though actually, older writing sometimes used it for someone innocent who sees no tricks, not only for someone “slow.” In today’s English you will also hear it about ideas: a simple-minded argument is one that is too neat and misses the mess. Write it with a : simple-minded.
