Sightless means blind — without sight. You will find it in stories and poems more than in daily talk. Friends and doctors usually say blind. Sightless sounds like book-English, a little old, as if the writer is painting a picture. Though actually, some writers like it for phrases such as sightless eyes. It is not the word a doctor would use with a patient.
