To sight-read is to play or sing a piece of written music the first time you see it, without it first. Your eyes are on the page, and your hands or your voice have to keep up, right then. Piano , choir singers, and orchestra players all train this. Someone who sight-reads well can join in quickly; someone who cannot may need days with the same page. It is a music-classroom word. You can also talk about sight-reading as a skill. The past form is sight-read, like read / read, not “sight-readed.” Though actually, some people loosely say they sight-read a speech or a script. The home of the word is still music.
「sight-read」指第一次看到樂譜就直接演奏或唱出來，沒有先練過。眼睛看著譜，手或嗓音要馬上跟上。鋼琴學生、合唱團員和管弦樂團的演奏者都會練這個能力，視奏得好的人可以很快加入，不好的人可能要花好幾天練同一頁。
這是音樂課的字，也可以把 sight-reading 當成一種技能來說。它的過去式還是 sight-read，和 read 的變化一樣。有人會比喻地說視奏演講稿或劇本，但這個字的根還是在音樂。
