You can picture 'should' as a soft arrow pointing at the version of things that 'fits' — the right, sensible, or expected way for events to fall. It is gentler than 'must': it doesn't force, it leans. From there it splits two ways — leaning toward what fits as the RIGHT thing to do (advice), and leaning toward what fits as the LIKELY thing to be true (expectation).
