Shitty means very bad, unpleasant, or nasty. A shitty day is a day when everything goes wrong. A shitty job can be work that is badly paid, boring, or unfair. Shitty weather is cold, wet, and miserable. You can also call a person’s behaviour shitty when they have treated you badly. It is informal, and it is a swear word — all right to understand in a song or a show, not all right to say to a teacher, a parent, or in a shop. Though actually people stretch it a long way: it can mean “low quality,” “,” or just “I feel rotten” (a shitty mood). It is an adjective, like bad, only much ruder. Say bad, awful, or terrible instead.
組成From shit + -y. The -y makes an adjective, “like / full of ___,” so here “like shit,” meaning very bad. German has a close cousin, scheißig, with the same kind of meaning.
