    Sexualization is the act of making a person, a body, or even an idea look or feel sexual — especially when that does not fit the place or the age. Ads, music videos, and some news photos do this: they push a sexual reading onto someone who is just standing there, or onto a child who should not be looked at that way. People who study media use this word a lot; it sounds formal, and it often carries a warning. You can a product too (selling a car with a sexy pose), but the worry students meet most is when a person is treated as a sexual object instead of as a whole human. It names the process, not a kind of person.
