- 1自以為了不起的；自大的（貶義）
A self-important person behaves as if they are more important than other people. They may interrupt, name-drop, or correct you in a way that says “I know better.” The word is always : you use it when you . It does not mean the person is important. It means they act as if they are, and that act bothers you. Though actually, the same person may be kind in private and self-important in a meeting — the word is about the behaviour you can see, not their whole soul. It is a little formal; in easy talk people say stuck-up, full of themselves, or that someone thinks they are a big deal.
「self-important」形容一個人的行為好像自己比別人重要，例如打斷別人、刻意提到有名的人，或糾正你，口氣像是在說「我比你懂」。這個字一定帶貶義，用的時候表示你不以為然。它說的不是這個人真的重要，而是他那樣表現，讓人看了不舒服。
同一個人私下可能很好，只是在會議上擺架子。這個字說的是你看得到的行為，不是整個人。比較隨意的說法有擺架子、自以為了不起，或說某人覺得自己是大人物。
