1. 1

A secluded place is very private and quiet, away from other people and from busy roads. A secluded beach, a secluded cabin, a secluded garden — you can still find them, but not many people do, and that is the point. The word is often warm; it can sound like a rest, not a punishment. We mostly use it for places, though you can say someone lives a secluded life. It does not mean secret, exactly. A secret place is hidden on purpose. A secluded place is simply far from the noise and the crowd.
