A screw-top is a lid that you by turning it. You twist it on to close a bottle or a jar, and twist it the other way to open it, the same motion as tightening a screw. Water bottles, jam jars, and many wine bottles have screw-tops now instead of corks. You can name the lid itself (a screw-top) or describe the container (a screw-top bottle). It is a plain, everyday word. Though actually, top here just means a lid — not the highest part of something in a general way.
screw-top 是靠轉動來扣緊的蓋子，順時針旋上就關起來，反方向轉就打開，動作跟鎖螺絲一樣。水瓶、果醬罐和很多酒瓶現在都用這種蓋子，取代了軟木塞。它可以指蓋子本身，像「a screw-top」；也可以描述容器，像「a screw-top bottle」，指有螺旋蓋的瓶子。這裡的 top 就是蓋子的意思。
