    Screamingly means extremely — so much that the feeling seems loud. It does not mean that anyone is actually screaming. English likes it in a few set pairs more than as a free adverb before any word: screamingly funny is the classic (so funny you might scream with laughter), and screamingly obvious (so clear you want to shout it). You may also meet screamingly boring or screamingly expensive. It is informal, a bit colourful, and more at home in reviews, headlines, and writing than in a careful school report. Older writers use it more freely; younger readers still get it, especially with funny. If you only need a plain booster, very or really will do; screamingly adds colour.
