1. 1

If a match is scoreless, nobody has any points or goals yet — or, for a whole game, nobody scored at all. A scoreless draw is 0–0 when the whistle goes. In baseball, a scoreless inning means that part of the game produced no runs. It is sports language. Commentators love it; friends in the park more often say “still 0–0” or “no one has scored.” It does not mean the game does not matter, and it does not mean a piece of music has no written score. It only talks about points. A test with zero marks is not “scoreless”; that student scored zero.
