Saleable describes a thing you can sell, or that people will actually want to buy. A saleable product has a market. Old clothes might still be saleable if they are clean and in fashion; a broken fridge may not be saleable except for parts. Shops, warehouses, and people selling a house use it. It is practical English, a little formal — more “can this go out the door?” than “is it cheap this week?” American spelling often drops an e: salable. Both are real. As a noun, saleable is rare (people say saleables for goods meant for sale); the adjective is the one you will meet. Do not mix it with “on sale.” A thing can be saleable at full price. On sale means the price has been reduced.
組成sale (the selling of goods) + -able (able to be sold). The same pieces also give a rare noun use for goods meant for sale.
