Roguishly tells you how someone smiles, looks, or acts: in that , slightly dishonest way. He grinned roguishly means the grin itself was the naughty part. It is the adverb twin of roguish, so the same feeling applies — playful wrongness, not real harm. You will mostly meet it in stories and descriptions of faces, not in everyday speech. Do not use it to mean “like a violent criminal”.
