Picture someone checking the sky before a trip and then choosing the route, not cancelling the trip. Risk management can be thought of as that habit grown into a whole system: list the things that could go wrong, work out which ones would hurt most, and change how you go ahead so those become less likely. The word never means refusing to take a risk. It means taking one with your eyes open, and writing down what you saw.
