Diversification means making something more varied, instead of relying on just one type. In business and money, it's a very common idea - instead of putting all your money into one company or one type of investment, you spread it across many different ones, so if one fails, you don't lose everything. A company can also 'diversify' by making different kinds of products, instead of just one, so it doesn't depend on a single product's success.
