- 1犀牛（口語短稱；全名是 rhinoceros）
Rhino is the short, everyday name for a — the large, animal with one or two horns on its nose. You will hear it in zoos, news, and wildlife films: baby rhino, white rhino, save the rhino. It is informal but not or rude; papers use it all the time. Though actually, “white rhino” and “black rhino” are poor colour names: the two African kinds are not really white and black, and “white” may have started as a mix-up with a word for “wide” (the mouth). There is also an old slang rhino meaning money, whose origin is unknown — that is a different word-use, not this animal sense. This rhino is simply with the ending cut off.
