1. 1

Revd is a British short written form of Reverend, put before a Christian minister’s name on letters, church notices, and formal lists: Revd Jane Hart, or the Revd Dr Hart. When you read it aloud you still say the full word Reverend — never “rev-d” and never “revved,” like a car engine. Though actually, the form most of the world uses is Rev (often Rev. with a full stop). Revd is a British spelling habit, and some British writers drop the stop. The title is polite and formal; it does not tell you the exact job (vicar, pastor, priest), only that the person is ordained clergy.

    牧師(英國書寫縮寫,仍讀成 Reverend)
