    A rendition is one particular version or performance of something, especially a song, piece of music, play, or piece of writing — different singers give different renditions of the same song, each a little different. You'll hear this word a lot in music and theater reviews: "a moving rendition of the national anthem." There's also a much more serious, separate legal and political meaning: "rendition," sometimes "extraordinary rendition," refers to secretly sending a person to another country, often without a normal legal process — a use connected to government and security matters, quite different from the music sense, and one I'd rather you look up from a reliable source than have me guess at the details.
