In American English, remold means to shape something again. You remold clay, plastic, or metal when you press it or heat it into a new form — the old shape is gone, and a new one is made from the same stuff. People also stretch it to ideas and lives: a school may remold its program, or a hard year may remold a person. The British spelling is remould. Though actually, in Britain remould has an extra everyday job Americans usually give to retread: a tyre given a new surface and sold again. Same verb, a slightly different extra use on each side of the ocean. In careful writing, reshape or recast often does the same work; remold still sounds a bit more physical, as if hands or a machine were involved.
