    The process of fixing or correcting a problem. Used especially in two common contexts: environmental cleanup ('soil remediation' — cleaning up land or water) and education ('remediation classes' — extra help designed to fix gaps in a student's basic skills before they move on).

組成remedy ("a cure or fix for a problem") + -ation (a suffix for a process or action, as in "creation" or "explanation").
