In grammar, reflexively means 'in a way': the action in the sentence comes back to the person or thing that does it. A pronoun is the self-word that shows this — myself, yourself, herself, himself, itself, ourselves, yourselves, themselves. In 'I enjoyed myself,' myself is : I am both the one who enjoys and the one who is enjoyed. 'She blamed herself' and 'they taught themselves' work the same way. Some verbs often take this pattern (enjoy, hurt, pride); teachers then say the verb is used reflexively. This is a classroom and grammar-book adverb. Though actually, English also uses reflexively in a completely different, everyday way: 'He ducked reflexively' means he did it without thinking, like a body reflex. Same spelling, different job.
