    Reclaim means to get something back that used to be yours, or that was taken, lost, or given up — you can reclaim your luggage at the airport, reclaim a lost item from lost-and-found, or reclaim your good reputation after a scandal. There is also a special, technical use in geography and engineering: to reclaim land means to make land (often under water, or full of waste) usable again, for example by draining a swamp or filling in part of the sea to build new land.
