Rapport is a friendly click between people: the feeling that you understand each other, you are on the same side, and talk is easy. A teacher may try to build rapport with a class; a doctor, with a patient. It is not the same as being best friends, and it is not a signed deal. It is the warm understanding that makes working or talking together go well. The word sounds a little fancy because English borrowed it from French; in casual talk many people would just say they get on well. You will hear it in teaching, , and business more than in the playground.

組成Borrowed from French rapport. It is a doublet of English report: same French source, different path into English. Report kept the “account / telling” meaning; rapport kept the “relation / connection” meaning.
