A radiographer is the hospital worker who takes pictures of the inside of the body — most often with an X-ray machine, and in many places with other scan machines too. They set you in the right position, work the machine, and make the image. In some hospitals they also run machines that treat illness with radiation, but the visit most students will know is the X-ray room: “Hold still, please.” They are not usually the doctor who sits with the pictures and writes the report; that doctor is the radiologist. They are also not a photographer of faces and holidays — the “graph” idea is still “making a picture,” but here the picture is of bones and organs. British English likes radiographer; American English often says radiologic technologist instead.
