Queens is one of the five boroughs of New York City, at the western end of Long Island. Two of the busiest airports in the world sit there — LaGuardia and John F. Kennedy — so many pass through Queens without living there. It has long been known as a place where people of many and countries live side by side. Older books mention Shea Stadium, where the New York Mets played baseball; that stadium is gone, and the team now plays at Citi Field, still in Queens. The name looks like the plural of queen, but here it is only a place name.
